Eight of Swords
⊘
Upright Meaning
You may feel trapped, by circumstances, by others, by your own patterns of thinking. The Eight of Swords shows someone blindfolded in a ring of swords, but the blindfold can be removed and the swords are not as close as they feel. What beliefs are keeping you locked in place?
Reversed Meaning
The blindfold is coming off. You may be beginning to see that the restrictions you've been living under are less absolute than they felt. Some of what you've been accepting as fixed is actually changeable, if you're willing to look at it directly.
Eight of Swords in love
If you're single, the Eight of Swords shows you feeling stuck, maybe believing there is nobody out there for you. That belief is the binding, and it is looser than it feels.
In a relationship, you may feel trapped by circumstances, money or fear of being alone. Look at which limits are real and which are stories you keep telling yourself.

What the Eight of Swords card shows
A woman stands blindfolded with her arms bound, surrounded by eight swords stuck upright in the muddy ground, with a castle on a cliff far behind her. The swords do not fully enclose her, and her feet are free. The binding is real, but the open path between the swords shows that much of the prison is in her mind.
